Giant Japanese Snakes oh my!

September 21st, 2012

They like things big in Japan. Big cities (like Tokyo), big monsters (like Godzilla) and one really, really big snake in Niigata!

Built for the annual Sekikawa Giant Snake Festival in Niigata, Japan, this awe-inspiring serpent is made from bamboo and straw, weighs over two tons and is over over 82m long! The super long serpent is annually paraded through the village of Sekikawa-mura in Niigata every August by hundreds of volunteers during the Sekikawa Giant Snake Festival.
